It is believed that the idol installed in this temple was brought here in the 18th century by the then king of Mewar and Seth Jai Ram Paliwal got the temple built. A vermilion Chola is offered to the idol of Ganesha. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, which falls on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada, is celebrated here with great joy and gaiety.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. Govind Dev Ji temple is situated in the City Palace courtyard. The idol of Lord Shri Krishna installed in this temple was brought by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh from Vrindavan. It is believed that this idol was built by the grandson of the grandson of Shri Krishna. He asked his grandmother how did Shri Krishna look like. According to the details his grandmother told, he made the idols. According to folk tales, this idol looks exactly the same as the form in which God had incarnated on earth.
